It is with a heavy heart that I have to report the sad news of the death of David Jack Smith, known to many of you in Agios Ioannis, who lived in this village from 16th November 2002 until 1st July 2006. He was a man of small ambition and large talent. He died on or around the 5th February in Maidstone, Kent, but his body was not discovered for several days, after he had failed to contact friends and neighbours. His cat had been noticed pacing outside. Police were summoned, broke in and found his body in the kitchen. Dave had been in poor health for several years and was not one for following Doctor's orders. He was 58.
